What is InSTEM?
InSTEM (Indigenous Youth in STEM) is a branch of Geering Up that collaborates with Indigenous communities to create and deliver high impact STEM programming. Through this initiative, we bring hands-on curriculum and exciting activities to 200 classrooms and 26 communities all across BC each year.

What are our goals?
Our goal is to make high quality STEM content accessible to all students. A large part of this is made possible through collaboration with our community partners to identify opportunities for curriculum co-development and targeted workshops to compliment existing teachings.
We aim to grow and deepen our relationships with all of the communities we currently visit. In 2018/2019, we created a team of Outreach Instructors who worked throughout the school year delivering workshops to students Sept-May. This helped us reach 2,700 kids and youth, many of whom are Indigenous; we will continue to do this in the 2019/2020 school year.
